The TarsusHS-PCI hardware/software provides an optional Viterbi decoder allowing the Bit Sync to decode convolutionally encoded data streams. Through a license upgrade any TarsusHS-PCI or Gryphon100 user can utilize this feature.
Our Viterbi Decoder uses a 7 soft bit decision algorithm for enhanced Eb/N0 rejection from the traditional 3 soft bit implementation. The Ulyssix Viterbi decoder allows user to select fully independent G1, G2 polarity and orientation. Current TarsusHS-PCI cards and Gryphon systems can be field upgraded to obtain this functionality. Systems do not need to be returned to the factory.
